Project about anger.

2004

I lid a lot of candles (resembling angry people) an have one candle unlit (someone in control of his anger) and was expecting this last candle to stand the longest. The opposite thing happened, and the heath of the burning candles made the unlit candle melt as first.

Chocolate shelter.

2004

Maquette of a shelter for depressed woman. the full interior and the walls are made out of chocolate so you can eat it from the inside out.

The Christmas message.

2004

My Christmas message was about people always being hasty and very stressful. I wanted to make them relax for a moment and tried to accomplish this by handing out hot chocolate when people came to sit down. In the cups I wrote poems about tranquillity, these slowly became visible when they drank the chocolatemilk.

Dichterbij (NNT).

2005

This was an educational project with a theatre group called Noord Nederlands Toneel. During this project 6 students of directing, 6 students of technique, 6 students of scenography and 60 teenagers make one performance together (accompanied by professionals). This was the first time we designed a full setting and fully realised is and saw people play in it.

Maquette for 4.48 psychosis

2005

4.48 psychosis is a peace from the writer Sara Kane, about someone who has a psychosis. The maquette exists out of a big plastic hedgerow in a clean white space. On the floor (made of plastic grass) are fake flowers. These flowers grow along with the mood of the main character. They also can be picked or destroyed. From in and around the hedge anything can appear, including the nurse.

Babylon.

2005

This is a movement performance that we made with the whole scenography department about the biblical story of Babylon. We build the tower of Babel on the moment that it collapsed. In this installation we made a performance based on movement and sound. the power of the performance made the 'tower' shake dangerously.

Concept for a Performance

2005

In this concept I would wear a knitted woollen dress that would slowly unwind while I would be walking the three most known symbols of religion (the cross, the star and the moon and star). In this way the wool will draw the symbols on the grass. In the end I would go mad and run true the threads. This will mix up the simbols to one knot.

Macbeth in Norg.

2005

This was an interactive, performance on location (the small village Norg, in Drenthe, Netherlands). For this performance we created a route for the public to walk (under supervision). During this walk a lot of different things happened in witch the public had to interact with the happenings. The performance was based on the play Macbeth written by Shakespeare.

Part of Macbeth.

2005

At the beginning of the performance I handed out personal, positive prophecies about the live of each member of the public. They carried this massage with them until the end of the performance. then I took them one by one from the public and read them as if I really didn't believe that the prophecies would become real. Then I burned the messages.
